Madhya Pradesh

Located in central India, Madhya Pradesh is well known for its historical sights, temples, natural beauty, national parks, and forts.  Historically, it’s been a land of rajas and maharajas, which is still prominently visible even today. It’s also a culturally diverse state, and you can notice various structures dedicated to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Islam. The erotic sculptures and carvings at Khajuraho Temple are one of the most famous tourist locations in Madhya Pradesh, along with several UNESCO-coded World Heritage Sites. It’s also widely known for the Sanchi Stupa constructed during the reign of King Ashoka.    Due to the subtropical climate of the state, the summers are unusually hot, therefore to sightsee in a pleasant climate, one should venture to Madhya Pradesh from August to March. Even today, this state also enjoys significant classical and folk music patronage. When visiting, one should also indulge in local delicacies like Seekh Kebab, Mawa Baati, Indori Poha, Jalebi, Butte ki Khees, etc.
